8/15 Big Price Drop! "Westone Spectrum GT Bass" for sale. Good late '80's production from the Matsumoku factory. $170 + shipping. No case. You can read my long-form observations of this specific bass and other's experiences with similar instruments here: NBD: Westone "Spectrum GT Bass" P/MM All the factory specs/controls/etc listed here: Westone Spectrum Gt Bass Long story short, this is a nicely built bass with excellent pickups and some interesting proprietary hardware. As well as the neat inverted taper "Switchmaster" knobs, check out this cool bridge! You can string through the base of the bridge for a quick release and a steeper break angle but it's not a string-through-body. Unusual... As well as general playwear, this one has a couple of specific points of wear to point out. There are some points of finish on the back of the black neck where the paint not damaged but has faded to a brown/grey color. There are two chips on the back edge by the neck plate. there are two cracks in the finish by the jack. They appear to have been stabilized and there is a black ring installed around the jack. It's fixed in place, but I bet there's additional finish damage under there. However, as you can see from the intact control cavity the cracks do not go into the body and no wood is broken away.
Is there any chance that the sale may have fallen through? I just noticed this post and it seems I may have missed it by a week.
Sorry. It's pretty and sure gone. My buddy's coming by this weekend to pick it up and there's another interested TB member as well. I'll let you all know if it falls through. Oddly, this bass was up for 2 months with no bites and then 3 folks in one week!
