Its a bit overkill maybe..lol. Older El Whappo on bottom and a Newer Neo Whappo Jr on top. Driven by Crest CA-09 using BH-420 as a preamp. Damn this thing shakes the house!!!! Definitely won't be over-run by any guitar amps though!!!

As you might be able to tell from the pic, I am mainly a guitar player..I joined this great site when I decided to do a bassment studio/jam room. I needed to learn what was hip in the bass world, what better place than where all the pros and afficiandos hang and talk bass gear!! I wanted something that couldnt be over run by my big Sonor drumset and Guitar amps I have...and yet stay clean sounding. Think I got it! Im a pretty thrifty shopper and almost always buy used high end gear..so for reference for those on a similar misson..the stack ran me $2250 for the Cabs/CA-9/BH-420 ..I think I did pretty good. I want to say how great a resource this site is and how cool the people are. Thanks everyone for all your great and informative posts!!

Very impressive. When can I come down and jam with you? I'd love to hear what that stack can do. Good taste. You will be treated to great sound. :D

wow nice Jam room setup. And when you get that gig at Wembley stadium, you'll be covered. ;)

I'd say you did pretty darn good on the total price too. Gotta love the used market!

For a guitar player, you sure have a nice bass rig. Are you looking for a bass player? :D

Looks good! I played through a similar stack once, it was monstrous, but clean and tight at the same time. Congrats!

Thanks. If your in the Northern VA / DC area feel free to come check it out. Send me a PM and we'll figure something out. That was part of the motivation to get the stuff I got..so when looking for people to jam with, the situation was such that nobody would have to drag over any equipment and not suffer any drop-off in quality from what they are used to playing.

I realize the rig is overkill, at 1st I wanted to get a 2x10 to run off the 2nd half of the CA-09 but didnt want a crappy one..then I found the like new Neo-Jr for the same price guys have been asking for used Tri-210's so I had to jump on it. Though I am not very good at bass I really like playing through it. Went through a bit of bass gear before I arrived at this which is pretty much what I had in my minds ear.

The one last piece If I get feeling really indulgent is a Millennia Origin or TD-1 to replace the BH-420. Im kinda self-rationalizing that it would be a smart buy in a sense of having dual utility..one as a killer clean preamp for the bass rig, and second to use as a mic preamp for anything I record into the 16-track hard disk recorder to make it sound warmer and fuller. We'll see.

The TD-1 has some killer features for guitar players as well when used as a preamp for tracking. Just wanted to point that out. :)
