Hello mates !!
Are you a fan of any in particular ?
Is there any that you don’t like at all ?
When playing songs it obviously depends on the key and chord progression and such. But when jamming I prefer minor keys, and the flatted second in Phrygian really floats my boat.
I spend a lot of time in Ionian and Aeolian, but Dorian is my favorite.
favorite modes: "standing and walking" but TBH, i don't mind sitting and i used to be great at leaning!
per the OP: i like 'em all, but i voted "dorian" because it's cheap and easy....like my former self!
Quite a bit of my listening music is in the Lydian mode.
Next would be Mixolydian.
In a house with three little Play-Doh factories, I'm going out on a limb stating the mode I like best is the one that's not clogged.
a la mode
Such a hard question to answer and pick just one since they are song dependent....but there is something about the locrian scale that I really like...the sharp 4 in the middle...just does it for me.
Dorian is usually a nice substitution in many minor figures
I like Lydian outside the Diatonics, for example #I (i.e. If a song is in the Key of G, Ill use Lydian at G#)
Harmonic Minor. Not a mode really?
None of the above. I prefer raisin pie a la mode
I love all modes, notes, scales, chords and arpeggios equally.
This is such a nerdy question and you all are a bunch of nerds. And my answer is Dorian.
I like locrian.
Its pretty much tension over every typical chord so you can always riff on it for a bit then come back to a resolution note to end your phrase.
I do like some mountain dulcimer on the side and therefore Ionian modes or Aeolian or even the Mixolydian modes if you're feeling bold are all regularly used but I voted for Dorian anyway as it's the saddest of all possible modes.
Gray is the new blue.
