What a difference power makes

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by Roger Heroux, Oct 6, 2000.

  1. I been using a Yamaha 180watts for 16 years or so.It did the job, dependable.I receently tried a Ampeg Pro-iv.This has 1600watts bridged and 800 or so stereo. What a difference in the notes produced by the Bass (LB75-Carvin )the note would just hang there. I had new Slowounds on as well.I never heard such music. We were a six piece band to back up performers/Inductees in a 1000 seat theatre.I used an Eden 210XLT( 4ohms ) and 115 cab (400 Carvin loaded-8 ohms )
I had them on a small riser angeled up to me.I was on a riser making the210 straight to my ear. I was in heaven.
The only complaint for volumn I had was the back-up singers
they were 25ft away. Again, not realizing this amp could throw that far.I know now it is time to upgrade.

    Thanks for reading; Rog
