What about Mark White of the Spin Docs?

Discussion in 'Bassists [BG]' started by Ric, Feb 16, 2002.

  1. I like him.
Hmm...a smoother taste of "funk" should I say?
Oh will somebody tell me how he plays
the bass solo in "Refrigerator Car"??
Cuz it sounds like slapping AND finger picking
    at THE SAME TIME!!
I wonder how he does that. Guess
he's slapping like hell, am I right??

Mark's the man. It does sound like mostly slapping though in the solo. If you get a chance, check out the live version of Refrigerator Car (The album's called Homebelly Groove) He really expounds upon the solo.

Yes, Mark White is quite awsome.

His relatively suffisticated slap bass lines really stood out on early nineties radio.
