this came up in the local craigslist. It is advertised as a B15N but it says BT-15 on the amp. The BT-15 was a solid state but this one has tubes on top. What is this?

Looks cool. Looks more like a HB 15N, but I don't know. Tried to hunt up some info, didn't come up with much. Good luck

  3. Strange as it is an early 70's B-15N as advertised and as written on the back of the amp, I wonder if someone changed out the faceplate, or if maybe Ampeg had extra BT-15 faceplates lying around when they made it? Those are nice sounding heads BTW but that is expensive for just the head.

    No question that it's a 70's 30W B-15 head.

The faceplate says BT-15. The original might have been damaged, the printing can come off with time. If you remove the jacks, switches, and pots, the face plate slides out. Some replacements are available at fliptops.net (Replacement Faceplate For Ampeg B15N Blueline - Product Details).
