I want to start using some effects. Right now I have a EH bass balls. I was thinking about a Mutron or a Q tron. And a Bass Synth. Will the bass synth sound like a keyboard.

If you like the funk sound, an envelope filter is good.

Mutrons and Q-Trons are a bit pricey, and it sounds like you're missing an important element: every pedalboard needs a good fuzz/distortion pedal. My recommendation: EH Big Muff.

The Bassballs is a great effect, though I just sold mine due to financial problems.

    A wah is fun too!

If you dig the Big Muff sound, but feel like it's missing some balls, and you have lots of money, get a ZVex Wooly Mammoth.
