I was just wondering what the best strings are among other people I have some DR's on mine and wondered what is better and worse. I also was wondering what is good for an acoustic bass cause mine really needs new strings.

Everly Rockers. Absolute best strings in the whole wide world for any bass, any purpose. Or maybe Darco, I'm not sure.

OK, I meant my post to be a joke, and I thought others might answer your questions. As far as what strings are "best", there's no real answer. I think you'll find that DR's D'Addarios, Ernie Balls and others all have their adherents here.

As far as acoustic bass strings, the Thomastik-Infeld nylon-core strings seem to have a pretty good reputation.

    I hope now you don't think I'm a complete snot-head. :)

    Whoo-hoo! :D Two big thumbs-up here for T/I Acousticores.
But be forewarned - they take a bit of gettin' used to. If you've
tried the T/I Jazz Flats and thought they were "floppy", you
ain't seen nothin yet. It's the nylon core (vs steel). The only
review I've seen at the B.G.R.A., the guy really hated `em.
Another thing...they will NOT work with magnetic pups - at all.
Not enough ferrous content to get the pups motor-vatin'. But if
your acoustic is piezo-equipped, give `em a go.
I think you showed remarkable restraint myself for such a
broad/generic kinda' question :). Even a slightly more
specific question like 'best roundwounds for metal' usually
draws very sarcastic (if not downright mean) replies.

    But, back on topic...

Thomastik-Infelds are the best strings. For anything :p.
