In my groove band we are going to be covering the song and I was reccomended to bring in the chords for the guitarists and such. Any sheet music or chords would be of great use. Thank you all!

Harmonically, a very simple song, yet this song is much more difficult than you might think, and when not played well, sounds like garbage.

For the vocalists, remember that growl that James had, that staccato bite in his phrasing.

For the guitarists, stay tight with that snare, and remember that this song is about groove. Listen very very carefully to everyone else.

Like I said, harmonically, the song is simple.

The beginning hits, ("Can I count it off?"), are all on Ab13.

The main hook, the verse, is Eb9, over and over. When you come to the bridge:

    Ab13 / Ab9 / F#9 / G9 / Ab9

That's all in one bar, listen to the song for the rhythm, as I don't know how to interpret it online.

For the bassist, it's a very demanding song. I suggest to work a long time on your fingering, at a slow tempo. There's a Db to Eb slide that can be difficult, as Bootsy often plays the Eb octave, making the fingering quite a workout.

But again, this song is all about feel.
