I thought it would be interesting for everyone to see what some of the live configurations are for many of the bands here. Maybe not. My band has had to turn down o few shows because of sound and stage requirements

What Are the Minimum Requirements for you Bands Indoor Show. ( I know some of you provide your own sound & lighting)

    Minimum stage size

15 feet deep by 25’ wide ect. Stage elevation?

    Sound requirements,

For example we use 27 channels, a 24 Chanel board is acceptable 32 is preferred W \ A 3-4 band EQ sweepable

    How Many Stage Monitors,

We need 7 but can make it with 5

How many bars, left, right, rear front. spots ect.

    Dressing Rooms,

Definitely needed when traveling. We need one with electrical outlets and lighting to accommodate 5 performers. We need some sort of racks to hang clothes, coffee and bottled water.

We'll make any stage work. We don't need a dressing room and as long as you comp us a couple of drinks we're happy. We'd ideally like 4 monitors, but can work with 3.

    You seriously need 27 channels?
  3. wow , 27 channels ?
we'll play any where, no stage needed. we usually try to use 4 monitors but can do with 3.
  4. Me too: 27 channels?? Really???

My band leader will make us play sitting on each others shoulders if the pay is right. He'll strap the damn PA to his own back. Ok slight hyperbole, but nary a gig has been turned down because of stage size, board channels, etc. If the $$ is there we play.

Considering a few people asked about it, I doubt it'd be boring. 27 Channels?? I don't know where you're playing, but that's an awful lot of channels for a 4 or 5 piece band, unless everybody plays 3 instruments and the drummer mic's every drum of a 12 piece set...

we typically use 10-12 channels depending on the way the drums are mic'd. can get by w/as few as 5-6 but (almost) never do. 4 vocals, guitar, bass , drums. we usually have 4 monitors, we have occasionally used 3.

1 light tree either side of stage. we will set up in the john if the money's right. :)

The bare minimum we need - 1 power outlet within 30 ft of where we are to perform.

i don't really even really need that as long as you don't mind it being only as loud as i can sing. some may even prefer that (for me)...
  13. We have a 4 channel PA with two speakers. Bare minimum, we need two mics, two guitar amps, my combo, and the drum set. We need two outlets since my guitarists each use a pretty big pedal board. No lighting, no dressing room, no dum mics, and we can still rock the joint.

Can you at least post your channel list? I'm struggling to see how you can need 27 channels with a 5 piece band. Even if everyone has a vocal mic and you use 10 channels for drums, that's still 12 channels for the remaining 4 instruments.

I've been devloping a band concept for this single issue (and noise level)

We can fit all the gear in a mini van.. travel with our own sub mixer

Physical size.. 12x12 does the entire band.

So I'm guessing you turn down 99.9 percent of all gigs offered...

Sorry guys, I think really blew it with 27 channels, it's more like 12. Just 5 guys, everybody does vocals except for the drummer.
