What are your thoughts on public displays of affection ? I really dont have any problem with it since I think it is a very human response to love and and affection.

I have no problem with it provided its appropriate to the situation. Ie two people making out in a park is fine, but doing so at the dinner table with guests is inappropriate.

Now...public displays of trying to get elaid on the other hand! :D

Seriously though, I have no problem with it and people who do it provided that they are not trying to do it "in front" of others on purpose. Ie, if you and your lady are in a remote national park and want to go for it in the lake or something, then its no problem. However, in the public swimming pool with others around is a different matter.
  11. I don't mind 2 people exchanging small kisses or cuddles or holding/cuddling each other in public while resting (parks etc).

I mind seeing 2 people gnaw each others face off.

I have to admit seeing 2 good looking lesbians doing it turns me on a little so I hate seeing that.

Seeing 2 guys do anything repulses me. I respect their right to do it but yuck!!! Not pretty to watch!!!!

And don't get me started on 35yo men with teenage girlfriends or vice versa.

So yeah, thats my stance on it :)

Ah if there were more lovin' and less fightin' the world would be a better place... albiet even more over-populated?
Nevermind, just put me down for what DC said.
  16. I tend to mind if it's loud and grotesque, especially if you've been asked to stop. However, as long as anything going on is subtle and not bothering anyone else in the group, it's fine.

In this day and age, public displays of affection seem to be tolerated less than public displays of violence.

And since art is a reflection of life, it seems that on TV and in the movies, violence is promoted far more than love/sex.

While I don't allow it, if given only a choice between the two, I would rather have my kids grow up watching porn flicks than the disgusting, negative and violent movies that are so prominently displayed in movie stores and shown in theaters. I'm not about censorship, but it sure does show where our collective thoughts are about it. I'm not saying kids should be allowed to watch people having sex...just that I think watching violence does more harm than watching porn.

It almost seems that violence is promoted and sex is considered taboo.

Make love, not war. Public displays of affection (provided they are not taken to extreme or violate obscenity laws) should be encouraged.

There is too little love in the world, and way too much violence.

It has been proven that kids who see their parents show affection (love) towards one another grow up far more mentally healthy than those kids who grow up with parents who show none.

I am really amazed how much violence is not only tolerated, but encouraged. And yet, how dare people hug and/or kiss or otherwise show love? In public no less!!!

everytime i hear a couple kissing, i want to punch them. it's weird, it actually makes me kinda nauseous.
(even thinkin about it right now is making me queasy)

for some odd reason, tho', when i see a gay or lesbian couple holding hands or with their kids or something - i'm like, 'awwww....thass nice.'

i especially hate when people make out at concerts. but that's usually because they're in front of me, and i'm not that tall.

To be honest I think its a pretty poor reflection on a person and society in general if they get upset or disgusted at two people who love each other displaying an appropriate level of affection for each other in public (ie kissing / holding hands etc).

Its funny how something like this is "cute" to most people:

Yet two people doing the same thing can make people feel disgusted.
