    Howdy all,

I am new to this group so hope this isn't an old topic. I recently saw Abraham Laboriel play with a quartet in Kalispell, Montana (really!). They were very, very good and I was especially interested in the ecoustic/elctric that Abraham played. It looked a lot like a carvin AC50 but it was a custom by someone I have not heard of. So, my questions are, who made the bass and does it compare to the Carvin AC50? I should mention that it appeared to be a smallish hollow body, cream bound front, fretless with fret lines, blond, presumably a piezo bridge pick-up as it had no other apparent pick-ups. Great acoustic sound throughout the range and a nice lack of boominess. Of course he made it sound more like a guitar morfed into an upright as he was all over the instrument. Truely a great performer. Any ideas on this? Thanks.
