So, there are a few basses that I always have on the 'backburner wish list'. Not enough to go out and spend the big cash, but enough that if a great deal came knockin' I'd probably scrape together the money in my change jar. These are the ones I always look for in the TB classifieds. Not the same kind of material lust I have for some Dingwalls or F-Basses or maybe the right MTD, but I'm always lookin'.

    For me it's:

    EBMM Bongo 5 (2 pickups)
    Pedulla MVP 5 string
    Yamaha BB 615

    How about YOU?

    back burner.. hmm..

well, considering my version of a high level bass would be like, a fender MIJ (compared to my only bass, the ibanez), its tough to say.

i guess since i'm really looking for a roscoe beck iv, second rate would be a used peavey cirrus.
  4. I've always wanted a good Fender P-bass. Kinda have my eye on the new 57 Vintage.

A Sadowski, Love the modern Jazz bass sound.

Some kind of Modern sounding bass in a single cut variety. The single cut will probably never happen, I have no idea what I want.

I wouldn't pass on an Fbass or MTD if I had the cash either.

Ah, ya never know! I got my power ball ticket.

    WHAT? It could happen. :D
  5. Stingray and a P bass, both with maple fretboards...but first I need another Rick(in a different color):D

The GAS fairies seem to bring something different every day...fortunately it hasn't progressed into much. I mostly want a bass with some Nordstrand dual coils!

    A Fender Geddy Lee.

It's a weird kind of gas though. It doesn't meet any of my usual requirements. It has none of the things that I consider "must-haves" on a bass...

But man that tone is sweet. And hey, it's Rush. ;)

    Some day...

I hear the Valenti thing...I don't want one bad enough right now to have one made, but one of those 70's styled 5's would be nice...maybe CAR with rosewood and block inlays and Nordies in it.

The bongo thing comes up every time I see a pic around here...they're so candylike and tactile looking.

Low-level GAS is a perfect description...there are basses that I absolutely crave but will never own due to expense, but the ones listed above would be procured if the price was right at the right time.
