When I saw him it was three black Buzzards. Ozzfest 2k5. Good player, couldn't here him at all. However I did get to hear my head explode to the constant and annoying pinch harmonics of that "other" guy.
James Lomenzo is the guy with the Black Buzzards. If you saw BLS on Ozzefest that wasn't John it was James Lomenzo!
dosent matter because slayer was on that tour therefore tom araya was on that tour therefore this guy dont matter
WAIT i almost forgot so was iron maiden and steve harris would whip both their asses. Steve harris is one of the best bassist of all time.
James Lomenzo, who did use the Warwicks has quit. John DeServio was mentioned in the Fender Players Club-site, so maybe...
Slayer wasn't on Ozzfest this year (which is good because they suck). Geezer pwned Lomenzo, Harris, and Martinie. As far as this new guy, John DeServio, they haven't recorded anything with him yet, so you probably mean James Lomenzo. He uses Warwick Buzzard LTDs (neck-through), and his rig is posted on his site http://www.jameslomenzo.com.
I saw BLS back in october and whichever guy who was their bass player at the time was actually playing a couple Fenders, in addition to a Warwick of some sort.
god,you guys are acting like the guitar player in my band and matt freeman from rancid is quite good, and you can't forget jaco
I went to the Ozzfest that had Slayer (2004 and they KILLED) and the guy from BLS was using Buzzards. Couldn't hear a bassist all night. That sound system just sucked. Couldn't hear anything on the bottom but kick drum.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
That was Lomenzo. And I had a similar experience at Ozzfest last year. What I could hear of his tone at Ozzfest was very dissapointing...all high/mid's and distorted. I did catch BLS during the club tour right before Ozzfest and his tone was very good. John has, IMO, a much fuller, rounder sounding tone. Lot more old school Fender/Ampeg thump.
I went to the Charlotte 2005 Ozzfest. Iron Maiden had left the bill by then. Martinie(Sp) was impressive, but every time I see Geezer play, he blows me away. I just can't believe how much the guy rocks. I don't see why he isn't mentioned as much on here. P.S. I got drunk at a bar with a dude, who later turned out to be Zack Wylde's guitar tech. No I didn't have the nerve to ask where his bass tech was...
