what well-known bass does it sound like?
hmm. sounds sorta like a jazz bass to me. nice tone.
yup thats definitly a jazz bass with more of the bridge.
Jazz bass, all controls up full, stainless steel strings, possibly maple fingerboard.
Definitely a Stingray.
that's the answer I wanted to hear
you're all right in a way as it's technically a cross between a Jazz bass and a stingray (or at least an OLP 'ray as it's a passive bass);
it's the bridge Kent Armstrong double-jazz humbucker on my Warmoth PJJ, soloed, in parallel mode.
I use this setting to approximate a 'Ray tone on RATM songs with my covers band.
the output is low, so I have to use a boost setting on my Zoom 506.
stainless steel strings and maple fingerboard, controls full up (actually bypassed) is correct.
