I don't mean to be ostentatious**, but I simply don't have a #1. I rotate through the following basses at gigs, depending on which band I'm performing with, my mood, my stage clothing, and/or the phase of the moon (some of these variables could be related...)

    Fender Roscoe Beck V
    MTD 535
    Modulus Quantum 5
    Lull P5
    Warwick Streamer Stage I 5

**Note that this selection is rather meager compared to others here at TB. :)
  4. Stingray. Love the sound and the feel.

For most of the fretted stuff:
    Sadowsky Vintage 5

    For Fretless:
Sadowsky 5, Zon Lightwave and Fender Jaco P Relic

I'll work my DP Custom 6 and '72 Jazz into the rotation as often as I can.
