  1. i can't link the photo, but its on this website.

    what bass is that?

this is elvis crespo's band (they're latin merengue/salsa band)

if anyone has heard their stuff, how do latin bass players get that sound?
  2. Im not sure, but why does th bassist always have the crap name, Orlando, Elvis, Hector, Estrella and... Poty? ***?
  3. ..it's an Epiphone, from the 4 + 2 headstock.

My guess is a Carvin. One of those LB something-or-others. The pickups look about right.
  5. definitly not an epi.

My guess would be a carvin too... if you look on the headstock, there is a white marking exactly where the carvin label usually is, looks about the same size, and the bodyshape also looks right...

from the bodyshape, I think I've seen some tobias that look kinda like that...

Carvin's don't have a 4+2 headstock. Also, the waist is too thin. I have 2 Carvin's and that ain't one... sorry.

He does play a 5-string Vantage in some of those pics (check the other pages). I had the same model around 1996, but it was blue. I guess the natural 6-string is a Vantage too.

plus the fact that they did the 4+2 tuning keys... I think that both of the models that "Poty" is/are playing are Vantages.

    I'm thinking Peavey
  17. Here is a bigger, not really any sharper, pic. Definitely not a carvin with the 4+2 headstock.

That's the bass I was talking about. This one's definitely a Vantage. Don't know about the 6-string, though.
  19. After looking at a pic of an Epi Expert 6 string bass on Bob Gollihur's main bass page, I rescind my earlier statement- it ain't no Epiphone. But it also ain't no Carvin.
