What's bass is it?? http://www.police.cybercomm.nl/pictures/photo026.jpg (my opinon: Alembic Spoiler fretless, ) enjoy, m.
2 nanoseconds, compliments I tought it has to many knobs and the jack in front so it couldn't, but probably U are right... http://www.jimlawrence.net/BASSES/ibanez1.jpg
Yup - I saw him playing one of these and bought one myself in the 80s!! The thing about the knobs - there were several different versions of the Ibanez Musician - something like 924, 824 etc ...? Some had a 3-band active EQ like mine and others didn't - very high quality basses for the time and significantly better than the basses that Fender was putting out at the time - gave the whole industry a "kick up the arse" !!
i live in japan so i see these used all the time in the stores... nice instruments, but HEAVY. that's pretty much the only reason i never bought one.
I always liked how it said in gold script on the back of the neck : 'Hand crafted in Japan by the proud people of Ibanez' !!
he played another bass for a while then to. it was a model also used by the bass players for bon jovi and skid row. always thought they were gibsons cuz of the postion markers but then i thought they were ibanezes but i'm not sure. anybody know?
Yep, I used to have one of these. Totally forgot that I had it - it was my first fretless conversion. I completely ruined it in the process. I think I gave it away.... It never had the greatest sound for some reason, it was a really well-made bass so it should have sounded great.... LS
I believe that the pic was taken from a performance at the Reading festival on August 24, 1979. It also had lines on the neck instead of the board indicating where the frets would be.
I have the same bass as Sting, except mine is fretted, his was fretless. '79 Ibanez MC900, it's the 22fret version.
