    Hi all,

I've been enjoying this new CD with New Orleans legends Ann Peebles, Allen Toussaint, Billy Preston, Irma Thomas and Mavis Staples that I picked up at my local Starbucks (with proceeds going to Katrina victims, I figured I couldn't lose). I'm also digging the tasteful and supportive bass playing by Paul Bryan, with its deep and woody tone. Now I'm GASing for a hollowbody bass!

There are two (partial) pictures of his bass on the inside of the CD. It almost looks like a Gretsch Electrotone with the "simulated" (painted) f-holes, but it has different pickups and the lower horn is too sharp and pointy. Anybody else seen the pictures (or seen Paul live) and know what this bass is? My curiosity is killing me!

    Thanks for your help.

    Michael

BTW, I did a google search and discovered that Paul is a NYC bassist and singer/songwriter who's toured with Aimee Mann and just released a solo CD called "Handcuff King."
