Received in an Ovation UB1-K body and appears to be the original install BUT other UB1-K's seem to have come with Kahlers. Can anyone ID the unknown/no-name trem? Pics are of Kahler in black UB1-K and unknown in white UB1-K. Thanks. The No-Name trem....
I have no idea who made this. but I have some parts to this trem; got them years ago in an ebay lot. I've always wondered where it came from... Subbed. Moonshine
Ovation said it's not by them "as far as they recall, we only used Kahlers in basses". Kahler hasn't chimed in yet. No answers yet at the bass trem forum.
Sadly the bass trem forum is pretty dead these days. I have Kahlers on two of my basses and soon a third thats gonna be a fretless. The bass trem facebook page will get you reply's faster. https://www.facebook.com/groups/78846074197/
Yep & thanks. I joined them and messaged Eric on his page about it but he couldn't I.D. it either. If I get it working(other than having a hard stop on pull ups), it can get a myth put on it....call it a prototype that escaped a factory or something. Also, from what is being seen as these 80's basses get the once-over, it would not be surprising to learn that Ovation, Hondo, and maybe a few others had bodies made at the same factory(Japan?). The insides and routings looks VERY much alike.
