What bass?

    What bass should i get???

    This is gonna be only the second bass i have ever owned so i dunno really what to get any ideas (I'm into funk)

    What is your budget? And do you mean fingerstyle funk, like Rocco Prestia, or slap, like Victor Wooten or Flea?

    Yeah! Great funk bass. Make sure you get a case for it. And some blue chalk.

    Go to the music store and try out EVERYTHING in yer price range, used basses are always the best deal. By the way why are you gettin a new bass?, jus wondering

    For fingerstyle funk, almost any bass would work, but IMHO the best bass for it is the Fender Precision bass.

    You can get a MIM for around $300, a used MIA for $500-$600, and a new MIA for around $900.

    imo for the style you want to play a jazz bass or p bass would do quite nicely. however as embellisher stated just about any bass will do.

    Of course it would help if you provided some info on your tastes, but since you didn't, I'd say.... Go with a Largemouth.
