Historically, Spector and Steinberger would be the most famous examples.
In terms of production basses, Some ESP LTDs, and Spectors if I'm not mistaken.
How 'bout the esps?Can you get a nice slap sound?Or is it just rock?

Not that they are made snymore, but G&L L-5500's used to come with emg's. still do if you can find em.

Schecters only have HZ's, afaik.
ESP/LTD 404 series and above sounds like the plan.
They all have active EMGs, and if you prefer a more simple layout, the Tom Araya has passive style Vol/Blend/Tone
You can get a good slap tone out of an ESP bass, sometimes you just need to lower the neck pup so the notes ring out better.
They're not an expensive pickup to get, so the real question is: what basses come with EMG sized soap bars?
