This is the bridge on my 1970s p bass and I can't find any info on it, could is be a stock fender bridge? Or is it after market?
I've never seen anything like that. Do the strings load from the back of the saddles, or is it string through?
Made by Kahler, Fender aftermarket and sold by Dimarzio too. Late '70s - 80s. I've had 2 of them come in, one on an older P and the other on a 80's Squier Bullet B-34 for swapping out to a more traditional bridge. I still have the one from the B-34 laying around here somewhere.
.. one of these crossed my path a while back ... not as heavy of a baseplate, but same thru-saddle design ... not my cup of tea either, but I think they are still available ... http://www.wammiworld.com/b3007.php
I had one for about a week in 1982. I hated it. Those saddles were a PITA to string the bass, and they made getting to the strings for doing palm muting pretty much impossible. Looks much cooler than it really is. I got rid of it and put a Schaller roller bridge on it instead.
I pulled one off a '74 Jazz body last year. Been using it as a paperweight on my desk. This one is brass. Retro!
