    Hi,

From low B to high C, 6-string basses have a large note scale, especially when they have 24 frets.

What cab(s) do you (or would you) use with such a bass to have excellent response in the *WHOLE* tone range ?

    All comments welcome !

    All the best,

  3. Hmmm. No 12"-ers in the poll?

I use 2 cabs with each a 12", a 5" and a 1". The 12" drivers are true subwoofers, so enough low end from a relatively small cab. You can see them at my home page ("Yellowstone rig"). The URL is in my sig.

I don't think it's fair to look merely at speaker cone size anymore, now that there are some incredibly wide frequency cabs available to us. For example, if you try Wayne Jones, which is a 2x10, you may not need anything else!;)

A 2x12, most of the time.

I use a pair of VL-110 EA cabs which are actually 3 way cabs with the single ten being the largest drivers. Sounds great from low B through all the harmonics.

I use an Eden Metro combo, which is basically a D210XLT with an WT400 stuffed in the top of it, and play and play 5 & 6 stringers.

The 2x10's and the tweeter have no problem from the low B all the way to the high C(on the 6, that is).

  10. $299 each at Guitar center! 800w a cab....hard to beat IMO.

4x10 + 1x15. Covers the entire range nicely.
