I have a huge stack of these things and just feel abd throwing them into a landfill. Thoughts?
Bracelets, necklaces, maybe try making a new colander for the kitchen?
you can boil them and have alot of spare usable strings. or are they broken?
Bite leader for fishing
can they be recycled, proper? I wonder.
Solder the ends together and braid large sections onto each other and make a kickass tow cable.
I remember a thread about a person who collected used strings and sent them to the third world countries in bulk to be used by the less fortunate musicians.
If You think about it, the strings are probably the hardest item on an instrument to be replaced with something else or to be made by the player. Everything else they can pretty much fabricate.
If You have lots of them, this is what I'd do.
+100 to this idea
They can be used as rabbit snares in survival situations, or maybe a garotte?
Ask Luca Brazzi
I heard about this but guess what? I checked their site and the ONLY TAKE GUITAR STRINGS! What the F is that about!??!
On a serious note, perhaps TalkBass as a community could do something about it in US.
I have thought about doing it over here, but even though we Finns do a lot of third world aid, none of the organizations I know of are the kind I want to work with.
I do like to throw a hook in the water though. If someone knows someone who could organize such a distribution in any third world country, I'll be in.
That would only use the G-strings... what about the others?
depends on how wide the ass is. That said, one case of not wanting to know if it's 17mm or 19mm spacing. Where is that puking emoticon again?
It's a shame really, Atoz has his own, but... .
............In the recycling bin.
Make a kickass fishing line and go deep-sea fishing.
