What can I plug in to the FX plug?

  1. I have recently bought a Fender: Bassman 25 amp
and on the back there are two Effects plugs
(send/return). What can I do with them?

It's an effects loop. You can plug your effects into it. :) "Send" to the input of your effects unit and from the output of the effects unit to "return". If you have a "blend" control, or "mix" or whatever, you can regulate how much of the processed signal you want in your tone.

But most effects units, most often stomp-boxes, are best used connected between the bass and the input of the amp.

  3. Compressor
    BBE
    Graphic EQ
    Noise Suppressor
    Or line level effects:
    Boss VF-1
    TC Electronics thingies
    A Lexicon thing-a-ma-bob

  4. I've got all pedals in the FX-loop.. blended with clean sound at 85 % fx, 15 % clean.

    sounds like a killer :)

allthough i'm thinking of putting the compressor in BEFORE the signal goes into the amp..
