A while back, I was brought in to play keys for a national(ish) act that needed a local band for a concert. The night of the gig, I wore an orange shirt. Everyone else wore black. I stood out like a sore thumb.

As a result of that night, I now almost always wear black or navy when I gig out.

What colors do you wear when you play?

I wear black (logo) T shirts, solid primary colors, or a "hawaiian shirt", depending on my mood.

Yeah, I’ll do logo t-shirts too. I have a lot of black t-shirts w/ logos of bass/guitar brands. I try not to wear the logo of the bass I’m playing though. That feels weird to me.

I've got a stunningly beautiful red Rumblekat bass, with gold hardware.
I wear all black to showcase it.:)
  6. Usually red or white, depending on which jersey I decide to wear. Seldom wear other colors.

I didn’t think about wearing a jersey. That’s a really good idea, depending on the venue and the band.
  8. We are a small time cover band so "better dressed" isn't a necessity at all. My Griswold "00" Blackhawks jersey is a personal favorite.

usually black. in the summertime, i'd wear something more colorful depending on the gig.

i made most of my full-time money wearing a tuxedo: so i've got "uniform" built into my gigging psyche.

  14. I'm comfortable wearing dark colors or going flashy depends on my mood. For a long time, before it was the "thing", I wore vintage or custom Aloha shirts. Now I wear genuine Tie Dye a lot of the time, I know several artists who do original designs.

In other words, it depends on whether the gig is home or away? :D

I dress so as not to draw attention to myself, but most outings my ineptitude renders that strategy moot.

Depends on the gig. Sometimes I wear what I want. Other times a 'uniform' of some sort is enforced. All black, or a mix of black & white.

I will keep wearing black until they come out with something darker.
  20. I loved the original white one enough that my kids got me a black one too. White is "home" and black is "away" :roflmao:

Have I missed these "outings" of which you speak? I don't recall a gig report from the wilds of Massachusetts? Inquiring minds want to know. I've shared enough of my limited playing seems only fair.
