I'm going to be placing an order for a G&L LB-100 but I can't decide on a color combination. I've been using this to get some ideas. It will have a rosewood fretboard. http://www.americanguitarboutique.net/LB100BassGuitarGen.html Vote away!
Well i was gonna answer this question 20 minutes ago, But then i got distracted by this site because there's so many options lol. But the Vintage white with the matching headstock is nice.
Of your three choices, I voted for Ruby. The "Himalayan Blue" is very cool, too! Color scheme can be the toughest choice. I had the same problem when I decided to buy a Ric. Except for black, I like ALL of their finishes so I went natural.
My thoughts: Natural/tort: always a nice combo, although I prefer natural/black. Alder will look a little plain-jane, so you may want to spring for the ash. My understanding (from Carvin's wood guide, and from a review I once saw Ed Friedland do) is that ash will have a bit of a mid-scoop compared to alder, so bear that in mind. Vintage white/tort: this is the one I like best out of all your options, and as soon as I get done posting this, I'm going to vote for it. Ruby red metallic/white pearl: when I first looked at this, I liked it, but the fingerboard was still set to maple. Once I switched to rosewood, my eye wanted something darker for the pickguard. Black pearl was awful (IMO) but the 3-ply black was very sexy.
I was thinking possibly tort for the ruby red as well but I thought all the red would be overkill. I think I'm leaning toward vintage white. I keep staring at this {}
Sonic blue with mint 3 ply and matching headstock Or Shoreline gold with tort guard and matching headstock
Oh I didn't see the whole link when you posted it. Thanks! They must have JUST added the LB-100. It wasn't there yesterday. I edited the original post.
