I’m sitting in my living room surrounded by basses, guitars, and amps. It gives me the warm fuzzies. I love my gear as Gollum loves the “ring”! I thought to mysef if I was to put the ones I’ve spent on my gear what else could I have bought a Corvette? a few Harley Davidsons? Traveled around the world? I have little regret. I’ve been playing bass for 30 years mostly for my own pleasure ( I could maybe buy a nice dinner with the money I’ve made from it ) gear still has monetary value so it’s not like I put it up my nose or in my arm! Anyway....

I could buy a used car, probably, but I could never buy the experience.

I think the question for me is how much gear could I have bought with all the money I’ve spent on weed over the years.

Or how much more weed could you buy with all the money youve spent on gear?

Or better yet.... how much more gear could you buy if youd have bought all that weed at once for a better price?

my current gear isn't very expensive, although i could buy a decent used car with what it cost. but if we throw in some of the stuff i've sold over the years, i could buy a new car. throw in the guitars i've owned and i could get a higher end new car or two new cars.

This is a horrible thread :roflmao:
It made me cringe as soon as I saw the title. I could probably have a corvette.
Or...I could have just had different gear :D

I like Warwick, but I never thought of Corvettes as a top end bass like Alembic

I have it admit though, it was an expensive journey through the bass kingdom with some really sweet boutique basses along the way, only to arrive at the obvious choice for me: a P bass.
