Thanks to Nino Valenti, I was finally able to get my Tobacco Burst PJ4 completed. While technically not a Valenti Bass, Nino did do an amazing job of wiring the electronics for me, as well as cleaning and polishing the frets. He was also kind enough to pop on a couple of small hardware items (string tree and straplocks) which I could have done, but, Nino took the time to do it for me. Thanks Nino! I appreciate it. Nino's got a nice shop together and a more than several on-going projects, which I think is a great thing. And from what I saw in his shop, his work is second to none. Well organized, efficient, knowledgeable, skilled and affordable. This bass is: Quilt maple over hard ash Tobacco Burst Finish P shape maple/maple (birdseye) neck Schaller tuners Gotoh 206 Bartolini Pups P/J configuration Aguilar OBP-3 Pre-amp The bass sounds great. Clean notes thru-out, excellent P bass sound. This bass is nailing the sound that I love for me (I'm more of a P bass type of guy). Very versatile, easy to play. Someday I'll play out again
You know what they say at talkbass unless you post soundclips it doesnt exist......Well that not what they say but it would be nice......I really have been gassing for a PJ bass could you at least tell me about the sound? what bass would you compare it too?
I don't use the bridge pup to much, barely really, unless I'm using a pick and strumming chords. Sometimes I'll use a 50/50 mix. anyway, i digress............. It's pretty close in sound to my modded 79 P bass, which still has the best E string thump I've ever heard (79 has a rosewood board/alder body). But this PJ configuration is much more versatile, for when and if i need it. a bit brighter for sure, more 'growl' shall we say? Me? post sound clips? I'm lucky I can post pics.
Much thanks and appreciation to Mrs. Filakovsky , you know those senior moments come and go with me all the time maybe i need a wife .
Congrats he was telling me how much he enjoyed playing it. Nino's work is amazing I have 2 of his master pieces now.

You know what? for the price you absolutely can't go wrong. For a little more than what it would cost you to do it yourself, it can be done by a pro. But, as we all know it's not just about price: it's quality features, comfortability, reliability and credibility, et al. it's whatever makes you want that specific bass. Nino has found a way of rolling all of those together. That's why one of the next Valenti's, I think it will be anyway, will be this:
