    Dudes,

Im just starting to try and train my ear, and Im looking for some easy to hear simple bass lines that use more than root notes. Anyone have any songs that might have that in it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys,

I think the blues form is great for this. Try some of that New Orleans blues, it stays pretty true to form and the bass player doesn't dance around a lot. Dr. John has some great stuff out there to try.

I totally second what Jazzbo has said about blues basslines. I'd add check out traditional fifties rock and roll...Bill Haley and The Comets would be a great start, Fats Domino, Presley. Chuck Berry is an excellent place to check. Jerry Lee Lewis. Bo Diddley.

as stated Blues is a great place to start out.

Some funk wouldnt be a bad idea either, not the 16th note figerstyle stuff, something more like play that funky music white boy funk.
