i know people have probably posted about this before but i cant find anything other than "mute" "dampened note" I mean what do they mean on like slap bass riffs ? I know they are just mutes or normal pieces but not slap
    please help me thanks
  2. on a slap riff just slap the string without really playing a note, so it's more percusion, it really is the same thing playing slap as not playing slap, don't hold down on the frets, but hold the string, producing a muted, or dead note.

X's on any tab are mutes (muted with fingers on fretting hand), and just incase you need it numbers in parenthases are palm muted
