What do you think about the Hartke HA4000 amp? I read a good review in bassplayer magazine, A friend of mine is selling me one in $250.00 bucks.

    If it's in good shape, I'd say it's a steal for $250.

If it is(was) good enough for Stu Hamm.... Yes, I've heard that they're good too...hope so, since I just bought one myself...

Had one twice (different ones, but same model - you know what I mean). I liked them. My only gripe was that it was a bit on the heavy side. The fellow I sold the first one too (son of a guitar playing friend of mine) loves it as well. Then again I'm perfectly happy with solid-state amps (currently using a BBE Bmax SS w/power amp and coveting an Ampeg PB800).

I only sold because I went back-and-forth on the head vs. pre/power vs. combo thing for a while.
