  3. Advertising these days is just ridiculously stupid, and this video is no exception.

What ad? When I click your link it just goes to Kia's site, showing all the models.

Gratuitous violence usually appeals to the younger auto buyers, who obviously are the target for this ad.

On a marketing level, this is a very good ad. imo.

For me it takes a few seconds to load and then you can click on an ad called "Hotbots" I haven't heard the sound on it yet, I wonder if it is worse that way.

I think I would have liked it better if the guy wasn't some schlumpy looking nerd. Guys like that are always the target of violence. Why not have it be the Rock or some tough looking guy.

Same thing I think of all ads. Stupid and I hated it. That's why I don't watch them.

Hey bassinplace I think you are holding back too much. You should be more up front about how you feel about things. :bag: :p:p:p:p

I think the ad is counter-productive and will not last long.

The #1 thing ads strive for is to stand out amidst the clutter of life.

The #2 thing is to give people a good/positive feeling about the product.

This ad fails badly in #2, IMHO.

Had to dig for it, but I thought it was really funny (but then I have a dark sense of humor). I suppose it could be considered violent, but to me it's over-the-top slapstick. Imo, it's in the spirit of The Three Stooges.

When the guy gets up and start slipping and sliding, it looked like he was doing James Brown for a sec.

I've always said that vehicle ads are some of the most innovative pieces of short cinema around. They're like student art films with big budgets. I imagine that's because branding is so important to the auto industry. :meh:
