Great use of the wood's grain, xush!!!!.....especially on the upper horn.

Now, what to do about those insulting black knobs we see used too much......

  6. Seems to me as if what is usually said (at least on other forums) when describing the upper horn on certain Warwicks, might suit this one as well.
    Still, it's quite cool.

I like that horn. It's as if they designed the horn to match that piece of wood...nice touch IMO.

The first one reminds me a lot of a Ritter, and I really like Ritter designs.

I like that design too. Nice wood selection and inlay as well.

Dunno who this Laggan guy is but my guess is: he was ridiculed in the locker room as a young fella! Now, he's compensating... :meh:

Dealer says they're made by a Detroit-area luthier.
Gave me the specs on the 3 string.
they are @ low down sound

I'd REALLY like that 3 string, but it not cheap!

I was thinking Carl Thompson or Darrin Huff... but the Laggan's top horn isn't as subtle, if ya know what I mean. Fantastic wood (NPI) on the top one.

Saw those while I was at Low Down buying strings for my fretless. I resisted the temptation to pick up the 3-string. The fit and finish look great. If you need somebody to **cough** test drive one for you, let me know.

    Peace,

    James

heh, I need somebody to buy it so I won't be scrounging for it!

Wouldn't mind hearing a review, only if it was eminently convenient for you. Thanks for the offer!

  18. hey guys-I own a Laggan 6 string, and love it! Russ makes very high quality basses, and the prices are very reasonable! he'll custom build anything you want built-just call him and talk to him and he'll make it for you.
