What do you use to polish a Pedulla ET bass?

  1. I've not used much of anything on my ET bass, but was curious what others use. I looked on Pedulla's site and they've got some wax kit for ET basses.

    Anyone tried it?

I'm reluctant to try anything that's going to clog the pores in the wood.

    Suggestions?

ET Phone home?.......LMFAO. I would stick with what the site says. Mike is usually pretty meticulous about what he recommends for his basses

Clog the pores in the wood? Not gonna happen, the wood is sealed up with a hard finish. Is there a reason you're polishing it? Fingerprints, swirls, dull spots?

  4. I realize there's some sort of sealant, but the wood has tiny holes throughout. Maybe "porous" was the wrong word.

The holes are large enough that using any sort of wax (like a car wax) will cause it to go into it, making it difficult to get out (I'm assuming here).

What kind of wood on the bass?

  6. Mine's got the zebrawood. It's got tiny, elongated pits along the grain.

I think if I used any kind of a wax, it might be hard to get some of it off. Guess it wouldn't hurt to try it on a small part to see.

I wonder, though, if it'd do anything at all; make any difference, that is.

Got it. Fine furniture wax won't hurt it at all. Any wax residue that seems like it goes into the fine pores will burnish out with a clean cloth or microfiber once you let the wax dry on the bass for 20 mins or so.
