MORE - gig reviews with photos - events where TB members meet up in person - folks helping each other LESS - trolling - "what's the best color pickguard for my brand-new bass?" threads - "we've already discussed that here! / do your research!" responses What about you -- what do you want to see more or less of on this site over the next 10 years?
More -Technical stuffs for building, repairing and maintaining with details. I shielded and Shimmed my bass only with these kind of informations here and I'm very thankful. Less -Trolling, specially labeling and insulting musicians who you don't like or understand. -"making excuses (like small hands) for not working on techniques" threads. -Precision bass with Jazz neck. -"Flatwound strings sound like dead rounds!" Statements.
More: Using the search function before posting/replying. Less: People who spend more time looking at their gear than playing it. More: Calling people out for not knowing the difference between input and output. Less: Threads that could have been avoided with 30 seconds on google. More: Reading the date of the last post before replying. Less: "Can I use the strings that came on my short scale bass to tune to drop Fb?"
I am sitting here listening to the first four U2 albums (because New Years Day lol) and I have decided that I will not be bashing Adam Clayton any more, and I'd like to see less of it here. I am noticing that he was much more musical than many here would have you believe.
To be fair the talk bass search function is horrible. If I want to find something on TalkBass I have to go to Google and type my search term and then TalkBass after it.
Yeah, TB search function is le dogg squeeze. Google does a much better job of finding relevant search info on TB than TB does.
Would be nice to have a way for threads to be automatically presented for specified topics. Better yet, a TalkBass AI should tell me what I need to know.
More: Absolutely hilarious first post replies on ridiculous thread topics. Less: Constant kerfuffling about which power supplies to use in the effects forum.
More: celebrating each others successes, whatever they may be less: Snarkiness and answering questions using their own opinions, then their opinions are irrelevant to the question being asked* *example: (Question): "What Jazz Bass should I buy?" (Answer): "Why do you want a jazz bass? You should get a Stingray instead", etc.
The mobile site is awesome for me. They used to have an app but they got rid of it for security concerns
