    While looking through the Spirocore string charts on the Thomastik web site I noticed several listings for "Kontrabass Quintenstimmung", with the strings tuned A D G1 C1. Can anyone enlighten this newbie as to what that refers to?

    Quinte = fifth
    Stimmung = tuning

    Quintenstimmung = tuning in fifths

    Ah, that makes sense. And to think that I spoke fluent German as a kid. You can forget a lot in 40 years.
    So that set must be what's referred to as the "Red Mitchell" Spirocores. Another brief glimmer of comprehension...
    Thanks for the translation.
