i see these threads all the time and dont really know what i'm reading.i am under the impression that its a bass thats not a standard, done before, similar looking to,never seen before bass, that someone thinks up and a professional(or semi-pro)luthier/woodworker makes for the person. am i correct in my assumption ? or is there a completely different meaning i am missing ?

Just in case the link doesn't work (wouldnt for me)

A wish bass refers to basses made by Steve Wishnevski (sp). These are unusual and inexpensive and come in for a lot a flack re optional extras like a truss rod etc.

I have no problem with him or his work and wish him the best in his business.
