what effect was used

    anyone know what effect is used on the bass in the song stranglehold by ted nugent... thnx...:cool:

    Its either a Flanger pedal set on a very slow sweep or a Phase pedal. Most likely the Flanger due to the "watery" sound of it.

    I don't think so, due to the fact that there would probably be frequency cancelation between the 2 effects because they have very similar properties in what they do. Although they would never be consistantly sweeping at the same rate, If they both hit the bottom of their sweeps at the same time (which would happen frequently) I would think this would cause a (momentary) lack of perceived volume or fullness of the note.

    Just my opinion since I've never tried using both these effects at once, but I can get a nearly identical sound with the Flanger on a very slow sweep.
