I have enough musical instruments around to have a hoedown! Here is a hastily arranged family photo of most of the brood. First row L-R: Warmoth PJJ, Warmoth PJP, Kala SUB4FS, Ibanez AS73, Yamaha BB414 Second row L-R: Seagull Performer Mini-Jumbo, Kala KA-ASOV-T, Kentucky KM-150, Recording King RR-50 Top: Fender Gemini III Dreadnaught Every one gets some playing time regularly and almost all of them have been to a gig. I am a bassist at heart but I love having a variety of instruments hanging around just because. If you have a myriad of instruments alongside your bass, post a family photo of your own!
I have congas, a cajon, 3 acoustic guitars, 3 electric guitars, a mandolin, a synth, a piano, 3 guitar amps.... I rarely use any of it. I will get on a guitar kick and play guitar heavily for a month, same with the mandolin but don't play much of the other stuff. I need to thin the herd soon methinks.
My daughter is a trombone player, and already a far better musician than I am. As a result, there are two straight trombones, two trigger trombones, a valve trombone, a baritone, a saxophone, a keyboard and a few acoustic guitars in the music room alongside all my basses.
I started out as a guitar player so I've got about 10 electrics sitting around... Oh wow, we're counting pets too? Well then; 6 - Cats 4 - Dogs 1 - Turtle (yeah, I hate ratfur covered cabs!)
Fred, the roomate. Lucky, the roomates dog. I think we may have a couch too: I'll have to look under the dirty clothes.
Two guitars, as small PA, a piano, a drum kit, a refrigerator, a couch, and two chairs. Plus some recording stuff like microphones and an external hard disk. Oh, yeah, a couple small guitar amps, a bigger one, and three bass stacks. I really like bass stacks because overkill isn't enough.
I converted my master bedroom into an instrument storage room. My basses share space with guitars, mandolins, amps, PA gear, and an old, deaf, toothless cat. He started out as a foster but since his owner was committed to an institution 2 months ago (that's a long, crazy story in itself), I think he's mine now. He hates my other 2 cats and is FIP+ whereas they're negative, so I keep them apart. He spends most of his time sleeping and has never bothered any of my gear. I let him out for a few hours every day when I lock the other 2 in the basement.
It's actually coral pink. Gibson did a limited run of SG guitars and basses in 2006 they called the surf collection. They had canary yellow, coral pink and coral blue
