What epifani cab would you recommend for a db750?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Siggy_Bass, Jan 6, 2007.

  1. I am thinking the UL610, but then again. Its like 1500 W in that cab, would I get enough headroom with the 750 W amplifier?

They weight of the cab is not really a problem since my 410 mesa cab alone weighs more :p

How do you feel about the epi/aguilar combo?

I haven't loved the DB750 through any of the UL's I've tried. They just don't seem like the best match-up to my ears.

I guess it's a matter of opinion. I ran my DB750 through a pair of Acme B2's sold one still have one, then I went to a GS112 GS112NT stack that I really liked until I got a UL310 that IMO absolutely rocked with the DB750, somewhere along the way I got a great deal on a UL115 that worked great with the acme, but was overpowered when ran with the UL310, due to the 5.3 ohm UL310 vs the 8 ohm UL115 plus it probably was not the best scenario for the DB750 eitheralthough I could go down to two ohm. I weight out my options an another UL310 was more that I wanted to carry for big gigs along with the's
DB750, so the UL310 went and a pair of UL112's have become a very adaqute replacement of the UL310 in as much so the
GS112 stack has left the building. So outside of running the epi UL112 stack I can switch up with the UL115/UL112 or the B2 over the 115, B2 over the 112 pair, or I can just say forget it and take the berg NV610 and shake the house. Overall I like the epi cabs with the DB750 especially the UL112 stack, but I like the NV610 with it even more but that JMO.

    I'd go with a GS412.

Just saturday my buddy and I pumped my DB750 (w/telefunken tube in v-1) into my new 410UL and his 310UL and oh Momma! Man it sounded very impressive. He brought over a 210UL 4ohm in addition. The 210 and 410 sounded good but I was knocked out with the 310/410 ... just whoopin. I DO very much like the DB750 and Epi sound. It's really punchy and endless headroom.

My intention was to find a small 4ohm cab for rehearsals and smaller gigs to use with my TFB550 which to me sounds best with a 4ohm load. I just loved the 310UL but it's so close in size to my 410UL it seems redundant. The 310 sorta blew away the 210 as I've read many times.

I also must comment that the TF does almost as good a job as my DB750 going into the 410UL but with less headroom and punch. But as many have said here, you can get pretty close to the 750 with the TF. I really thougt the 310UL sounded superb via the DB750 though, but not my idea of an ultra light rig.

I also find the DB750 excellent with my NV215.
