What exactly is an envelope filter?

    It makes you sound funky in a Bootsy, Stevie, and late 70s Garcia sort of way. More like an auto-wah than say, a distortion pedal. Look for sound clips of a Mutron for a nice example.

    If you are wondering HOW it does it....I have no idea.

    It's along the same idea of a wah pedal, a filter is controlled to the amplitude of your instruments signal to create a synth type sound.
