I always put the strings that I felt comfortable with, not always what the factory puts on. For my 4-banger, I use .45, .65, .80, .100 I always liked a more twangy E and A, with a thicker D & G. The 5-string gets the same four as above but with a .130 B. I generally stick with EB Super Slinky 4's or Regular Slinky 5's
east - me too, exactly the same...45-100 i really like the strings that are on it, but i'm thinking of going to lo-rider nickles...still torn on getting the 45 - 100's or the 45 - 105's i've had some balance problems in the past - on 2 different basses now, i've put 105's on, seemed to have helped. thanks for the advice though, still thinking
I've been a die hard DR fanboi for about 17 years now..... but I haven't found anything that sounds as good as TI SA's on the L2K. I just couldn't stand the "boominess" of the loriders on that bass..... OTH, nothing but Loriders go on my MIA Jazz...... The SA's have settled into this groove that really compliments the already wide sound pallet of the L2K. They can get thumpy with the neck pup in series.... and snappy with both pups in parallel with treble boost. And they've stayed in that groove for well over 6 monthes..... in fact, I think I have about 9 months on this set now. I believe they are gauged .105--.045. Ljazz
