    two thoughts...

    1) Why is "Genre" so darned important to everyone today?
    2) Uh - and I have no clue what I'd call that recording. Experimental metal?

#1 is a really good question and I look at it as a sort of convenience for peeps when they're trying to communicate. That said, I've always found the problem with genre-fying something is that this limits what it can do in the eyes of its genre-fiers. It's kinda like when Opeth tried to grow into their second '70s prog skin on Heritage and Pale Communion and got totally slammed for it :meh:

As much as they suck, labels and genres do help people searching for music. Also placing like minded bands together helps get the word out. But it does get a little too much when you sub genres of sub genres.

As far as what this song is, no clue. Not up on my heavy music genres. Just wanted to check it out and give my .02 on genres. Keep on rocking!

Me neither - and I play the stuff. 'Goblincore' is a long-running in-joke with some of the odder bands in my hometown, but uh, not sure if that'll fly. Haha.

I dig the song. It sounds like Bono molesting Frank Booth at a metal show.

I'd call it Washing Machine Metal. That was a term I heard Ozzy use in an interview once and I liked it. He said something to the effect of "You got all kinds of metal today. You've got heavy metal, speed metal, thrash metal, black metal. What's next? Washing Machine metal?"

Hey man, if it's good enough for the guy who sometimes forgets his own name: I am down.

Oof, compared to Bono. Unsure how to proceed, feelings-wise. :chicken:

It reminds me of a mix between Ministry and Fugazi.

Firstly thank you heaps, and secondly my buddy said the same thing, albeit about a different track. "You're very noisey! Why you gotta be so noisey? Don't you get enough attention with your stupid hair?" and he went on and on and it actually got quite rude after a while.

my husband didn't mean it as a criticism - he's a huge fan of powerful, discordant and experimental stuff. that was his impression of what niche it would fall into.

Only nuns and doctors ever called me Joseph. And my parents when I was in trouble. I have issues with that. I'll let it go this time though cuz you didn't know.
