I need to replace the nut on my '75 P-Bass with a maple neck. What kind of glue do I use?

I just made and installed a new nut for my Fender Aerodyne yesterday. I used 5-minute epoxy. Ain't NOBODY can tell me that that was not wise! The nut I made was a HUGE improvement over the stock piece of #@$!. And, it's made of black water buffalo horn and matches the all-black bass oh so well!!! That was a fun project, too!! Took me 1.5 hours!! Polished up the nut and everything!

I make sure the slot is nice, clean and square and the nut fits it exactly. Then I just use a thin smear of carpenters glue to make sure it doesn't slide from side to side. That way it's easy to knock out if (when) it needs to be replaced.
