What happened to two fingers?

I'm always amazed the coincidence of a post just when I'm dealing with the same thing. Yesterday I sent him a couple more stickers for his refrigerator that have been sitting in an envelope on my desk for weeks. Looked, and yes, his avatar shows inactive, last seen Dec 27, 2022.

 

Ooooh hope he's ok....

 

"Inactive" is the new "banned" or "suspended". Must have pointed the wrong 2 fingers at the wrong person and is in time out.

 

It did say suspended up until recently on his account

Ah well hope it's only temporary. Been in the penalty box once myself, and got a couple of (well deserved) warnings for things I shouldn't've posted...

I wish they’d just use “suspended” or “banned”. “Inactive” makes it sound like the person is dead.

 

There's a thread about that somewhere. Some people use their real name for their user name and it can be harmful to have a site ban associated with your name. (For example, a potential employer googling your name). So "inactive" is more ambiguous or generic sounding - no negative connotations.

 

Just having your name show upon TalkBass should be a red flag.

The site has an "In Memoriam" flag for members who have died. (look up @Chef).

Two fingers's account was originally marked "Suspended" rather than "Inactive", which indicates to me that either he or the mods had made a decision to change his status in the past couple weeks. You might be right, I just dunno.
