I mean like personification kinda thing. I call mine Angela after a foxy ladeee that I know...
I call my bass "Dionne."
Because it's a Warwick.
Afriend has an antique white Fender Strat. His guitar is named "Betty." As in Betty White.

My old Yamaha piece of crape was christaned according- "Crappious Pickerupious"
My first bass, some Hondo, was affectionately called "piece of junk".
My Ibanez SR405 is called "Lord Alex" after Alex Webster.
My soon-to-be-acquired Cort NA5 will probably be called "King Eric" after Eric Langlois.
My sometime-in-the-future-to-be-acquired Modulus Q5 will probably be called... "Emperor Chris" after Chris Richards.. or maybe not.
I call my 5 string "Tiger Wood" because the cocobolo has an orange and black stripe pattern.

I call my medium scale tenor bass "TBFKAB". The Bass Formerly Known As Brian, because before it was tuned ADGC, I had it tuned as a piccolo bass. (Brian Piccolo...get it?)
I call my 6 string Ken Smith and my fretless Warwick Thumb "Pipe Dreams" 'cause my wife won't let me buy 'em.
A friend of mine refers to this bass as "Orwell" because it's serial number 84. That name mgith just stick.
