The First bass in this video. is the bass I like

After I saw this I got to thinking what if Bobby Vega had a Fender signature Bass

so the bass I got coming is an American P-bass with a J-neck. it's got a 3 tone burst both are 2003-2004.. I'm putting a tortoise pickguard and a EMG Geezer Butler pickup which is based on a Bobby Vega P bass pickup and controls in it. The other thing is a stereo Jack so it acts like a locking jack.

so my question is what artist- who does not have a signature bass- would you like to make?

IMO, a true Bobby Vega Signature Fender would be a stacked Knobbed Jazz like the Flea Signature Jazz.

The real question is, "Why has there never been a Bobby Vega signature?"

this the bass that it going to be converted into the bobby Vega tribute. A tribute not a copy. I definitely want a vintage player felt.

Actual why have one when he could have two signature basses. I don't think bobby want a signature. He likes to play basses with natural character. so my idea here is a lil absurd. lol but I can live with that

I like that sig idea. It could also be a Carl Radle, too. Of course, Duck Dunn did a similar thing. I don't think Fender currently does a P bass w/ a b&b '60s Jazz neck(?). Seems like it would be popular.

P bass with an "A" Neck (1.5" at the nut) the Back of the neck can be different Radius or shapes depending era of bass you play.

I admit that the P-bass with the Jazz neck is cool, but when I think of Bobby Vega, I think of a Jazz Bass played with a pick that is as percussive as thumb slaps:

If Bobby Vega had a signature Fender it would cost $5,000. TB would complain about the cost a little but they would crap all over the relic on a fairly regular basis. A few players would dream of one and a few might actually own one. Then it will get discontinued and people will talk about how great it was and how Fender should really bring it back. At that point we have come full circle because people will be back to talking about how Fender dropped the ball.

  13. The folks at EMG might have some insight as to why...

You missed that some would beg for a cheaper version to be made in Mexico.
