what if I leave the tone cap out?

    I have pots and jack all wired up for a pbass, but it doesn't currently have a capacitor. No big deal to add one, but how would it change the tone if I left it out?

    If you leave the tone cap out, you'll basically have a knob on your bass that does absolutely nothing. :smug:

    i love those, like a boost guage on a non-turbo civic. eveyone knows guages and dials make things better.
     
  4. To answer your question:

    The cap serves as a low pass filter, It's only used when you turn down the tone pot. By eliminating it your treble is on full all the time. HTH
